Ram Vishal Parab perfect at 1st Tarabai Shinde Rapid Rating Open 2024
13-year-old Ram Vishal Parab scored a perfect 9/9 to win Federal Bank presents Tarabai Shinde Rapid Rating Open 2024. He finished a full point ahead of the field. Five players - Paras Dilip Bhoir, Ankur Mahesh Gokhale, Aakash Sharadchandra Dalvi, Keval Nirgun and FM Vedant Nagarkatte scored 8/9 each. They secured second to sixth place according to tie-breaks. The total prize fund of the tournament was ₹250000. The top three prizes were ₹20000, ₹15000 and ₹10000 along with a trophy each respectively. The one-day rapid rating tournament was organized by Mr. Nandakumar TV on 31st March 2024 at Agri Koli Sanskriti Bhavan in Nerul, Maharashtra. Ram Vishal's first rating tournament victory in 2024
Ram Vishal Parab scored eight wins in-a-row 8/8. FM Nikhil Dixit was the sole player trailing him by a half point at 7.5/8. Ram needed a draw to win the tournament. However, he went for a win and got the full point to become the champion with a 100% score of 9/9. Paras Dilip Bhoir and Ankur Mahesh Gokhale defeated CM Vedant Nitin Vekhande and Arvind Iyer to secure second and third place respectively.

A total of 692 players took part from all over the country and one from the USA in this one-day nine round Rapid Rating Open tournament. It was organized by Mr. Nandakumar T V at Agri Koli Sanskriti Bhavan in Nerul, Maharashtra on 31st March 2024. The time control of the event was 10 minutes + 5 seconds increment per move.
