Kartavya Anadkat dominates 1st Late Shri Dhiraj Singh Raghuvanshi Memorial Rating Open 2023
Kartavya Anadkat scored an unbeaten 8.5/9 to win 1st Late Dhiraj Singh Raghuvanshi Memorial Rating Open 2023. He finished a full point ahead of the competition. Five players - Ram Prakash, Arpan Das, IM Chakravarthi Reddy M, Daksh Goyal and Raj Kapoor scored 7.5/9 each. They were placed second to sixth respectively according to tie-breaks. The total prize fund of the tournament was ₹1100000. The top three prizes were ₹100000, ₹70000 and ₹50000 along with a trophy each respectively. This is Kartavya's second tournament triumph, first open rating tournament victory of the year. The last rating tournament the reigning Gujarat State Blitz champion won was in November 2022. Three teenagers in top ten
Kartavya Anadkat had a sole lead 7.5/8 heading into the final round. He defeated Govind Kumar to finish a full point ahead of the rest. Ram Prakash, trailing the leader by a half point 7/8, drew against IM D K Sharma, to finish second 7.5/9. Ten players were at 6.5/8. Out of them, Arpan Das won against Dileep Tripathi to finish third according to tie-breaks.

A total of 293 players including two IMs and a WIM took part from various states across the country in this six-day nine-round Swiss league Rating tournament which was organized by Dev Bhoomi Chess Association in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand from 22nd to 27th May 2023. The time control for the tournament was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
