13th London Chess Classic 2023 R5: Gukesh escapes against Adams

by Shahid Ahmed - 06/12/2023

D Gukesh is having some issues with his finishes at 13th London Chess Classic 2023. It seemed his game against Michael Adams (ENG) will end in a draw. However, in the final momnts of double rook and knight endgame, he made a slight inaccuracy which turned out to be big one. Adams did not spot it well and the game soon ended in a draw. GM Mateusz Bartel (POL) scored the sole win of the round against IM Shreyas Royal (ENG). Adams remains sole leader 3.5/5. Gukesh, Jules, Hans and Mateusz are at 3/5 each. Today is a rest day. Round 6 starts tomorrow Thursday 7th December at 2 p.m. local time, 7:30 p.m. IST.
